A few things to get off my Chest; venting my spleen is so fun

Lost is back! Season 4 started last night in this country, and what a start to the new series it was! Within 5 minutes, despite being promised that this season would start answering questions, I had more questions than ever before. This isn't a bad thing, Sara and I are just dying to know what the island is and what happens between now on the island and the future scene we saw at the end of season 3. We're hooked and the chances are if you watch Lost you probably are too. It does seem that those who have never really got into it can't really be bothered now. Big mistake, I know it's a lot of TV to catch up on, but I'd reccommend it!

I won an IPod through work. Basically, they had a promotion over the Christmas period, a bit of a competition, and one of the prizes I won was a 4Gb IPod Nano. Absolutely in no way is this a bad thing. IPods are expensive bits of kit, and seeing as I'd heard so many people had been after them I thought they must be pretty good. To be fair, the sound quality's excellent, they look stylish and they are fairly easy to use once the music's on them. But why in the name of Hell must you install some software which is probably laden with Spyware and memory-hogging resources in order to transfer your music to it? All the MP3 players we've had in the past have just appeared as Removable Storage in Windows, and a swift copy and paste is all you need to transfer across your music. Here, the stupid ITunes software must convert some files, renames them for you, and then it will transfer across your music. Why on Earth take this step? I'm sure someone will say "Because it helps prevent piracy." How, exactly? By making it ridiculously long-winded to update your rather expensive new MP3 player? I'm sure some people like the ITunes software. Maybe some people find it useful for organising their music. But the option should be there for using Windows Explorer too.

I've gone and booked myself a driving lesson.

Harry Hill's TV Burp is hilarious. Oh, yes. If you don't watch it, watch it this week. Give it a try.

My DMREX95 has died. It's the DVD drive, it keeps giving error U61 and restarting over and over again, therefore can't actually get anywhere with it. Caitlin's new Lazy Town DVD is stuck in there, and there's a load of stuff on the Hard Drive I haven't watched yet (Some Wez & Larry's Top Tens from XLeague.TV, last week's Brainiac and more). Bloody thing.

I'm getting more content written for the website. Hopefully it'll be updated again soon. I really need to organise the Retro Zone somehow.

I need to get this entry posted cos I need to be setting off for work soon. Although work's not a bad thing as such (I enjoy my job), but anything that takes me away from the family is bad. It's one of those Catch 22s, you need to work to live, but you'd rather not REALLY. It does annoy me that there's people out there who don't work, and probably get paid more than I do when I've worked hard all my life. It does beg the question, "Why would anyone work?" but then if no one worked, who'd pay for the non-workers?
